The Field Multitool is built around spring-loaded pliers and folds out fourteen tools from the handles, including a plain blade, a serrated blade, a wood saw, scissors, a can opener, a bottle opener, a flat and a Phillips driver, an awl, and a file. Each blade and tool locks open and releases with a liner lock.
The body is 420 stainless steel with a bead-blasted finish. Closed, it measures 10 cm and weighs 230 g. It ships with a nylon belt sheath and a bit holder. The tools are accessible from the outside without opening the pliers.

Tools lock, which matters
Every blade locks open, so nothing folds shut on your fingers under load. The pliers are tight and aligned. It is heavier than a pocketknife but it replaces several tools.

Scissors are weak
Most tools are solid but the scissors are small and the spring feels light. They cut tape and thread but not much more. Everything else has held up to regular use.

Stiff out of the box
The blades were very stiff to open at first and needed a drop of oil to loosen. Now they work smoothly. The sheath is decent but the bit holder is easy to misplace.
