Brass Pencil Sharpener
Item ST-8117
A solid brass wedge sharpener with a replaceable carbon-steel blade.
Shipping: calculated at delivery
The Brass Pencil Sharpener is a single milled wedge of solid brass with one sharpening hole bored at a long taper, so it cuts a slender point favored for drawing. The mass holds the blade steady against the cut.
The blade is hardened carbon steel, fixed by a single screw, and can be replaced or honed when it dulls. Brass develops a patina that the blade screw lets you ignore.
It fits standard pencils up to 8 mm. The body measures 3.5 x 1.6 x 1 cm and weighs 38 g.

Long, slender point
The long taper gives a needle point that a stubby sharpener never could. The brass weight keeps it from skating. Blade is genuinely sharp.

Blade dulled sooner than hoped
After heavy use the edge softened and started crushing the lead. Swapping the blade fixed it, but I expected longer. Body is beautiful.
