The Graphite Pencil Set covers a full working range of grades: 4H, 3H, 2H, H, F, HB, B, 2B, 3B, 4B, 5B, and 6B. The harder grades hold a point for detail; the softer grades lay down dark, broad tone.
Each pencil is California incense cedar with a bonded graphite core that resists breaking when sharpened. The grade is stamped on the natural unpainted barrel.
The set arrives in a hinged tin that doubles as storage. Pencils are hexagonal to keep them from rolling off a table.

Cores stay centered
Sharpened the whole set and not one core was off-center, so no chasing the point around. The 6B is genuinely dark. Tin is sturdy.

Wish it had a 7B and 8B
The range tops out at 6B, so deep shadows take extra layering. Everything from 4H down is excellent. Good value for twelve.
