The Hardcover Sketchbook holds 80 leaves of heavyweight 160 gsm wood-free paper with a light tooth, suited to pencil, ink, and light dry media. The weight resists buckling under wet pens and limited wash.
The binding is sewn and glued into a rigid board cover wrapped in coated linen, so the book opens nearly flat and survives being carried. An elastic closure and a ribbon marker are fitted.
It measures 21 x 21 cm square, a format that frames a composition without a dominant axis. The paper is a warm natural white.

Paper takes a light wash
The 160 gsm shrugs off ink and a damp brush without cockling much. The square format is great for thumbnails. Cover takes a beating in my bag.
