The Compact Subwoofer is a sealed-box powered subwoofer with a 20 cm down-firing driver and a 120 W class-D internal amplifier. It is intended to add low-frequency extension to bookshelf speakers, a soundbar, or a stereo system.

Inputs include an RCA line-level pair and spring-clip speaker-level terminals for systems without a dedicated subwoofer output. Rear controls cover volume, a variable low-pass crossover from 50 to 150 Hz, and a phase switch. The cabinet is 18 mm MDF in a black ash vinyl wrap.

  • Fills in my bookshelves nicely

    Set the crossover around 80 Hz to match my bookshelf speakers and the bass blends in without sounding separate. Tight, not boomy. The speaker-level input meant I did not need a subwoofer output.

  • Good for music, modest for movies

    Being a sealed 20 cm driver it goes low but not chest-thumping low. For music it is well judged. Big action movies would want something larger.
