The Plain-Toe Derby Shoe has an open-lacing quarter sewn over the vamp, which makes it easier to adjust across the instep than a closed-lace oxford. The upper is full-grain calf leather over a Blake-stitched leather sole.
Three pairs of eyelets carry waxed cotton laces. The last is a rounded almond shape with a moderate toe spring.
Available in black and burgundy. Brush, cream, and polish; rotate with shoe trees to preserve the shape.

Adjusts across the instep
I have a high instep and the open lacing opens wide enough to fit. The leather is smooth and took a polish on the first go.

Sole wears fast
Smart shoe and well finished, but the leather sole shows wear quickly on pavement. I had a topy added. Fit is true to size.
